Hourglass Bride was originally a fitness program that I created from my global pilates, dance, and wellness studios. It was an answer to a call from brides around the world wanting to slim down, reshape, craft, create, or manifest the body of their dreams to fit into the wedding dress on their dream day.
Not only did it work, but we had a several month, to a years waiting list for the class around the world. What I realized, though, as brides filtered in like an endless parade of dreams was that the bride wanted, needed, hoped for, and yearned for so much more. She wanted support, care, direction, choice, opportunity, guidance, friendship, mentorship, and love. Also, I learned there were multiple beings living inside the bride’s body. There was the woman in love, the daughter, maybe the sister, the friend, the orchestrator, the designer, the fashionista, the visionary, the practical steward to the event, and there was this little girl inside her that dreamed of this day forever. The girl knew in her heart what her wedding would look like and feel like. The girl, who was already married inside her soul, was waiting to say “I do” as readily as a child says yes to ice cream. Eyes open with joy dancing inside them.
I listened to what they asked for. Communication, intimacy, combining families, new homes, decoration, registry, logistics, flowers, table settings, guest lists, vows, not to be nervous, not to be stressed, the right shoes, accessories, cake, rings, transportation, the right gifts, the first dance, hair, makeup, to lose weight, to get a tan. Whatever they asked for, I listened. I listened so deeply that I felt like I was there inside the wedding.
At that time, I was also hosting three international radio shows. One was Happily Ever After. One was Wake Up Women, and one was Bridal Talk Radio called Hourglass Bride. Again here, I had a waiting list. This time, the wait was for listeners to talk to our celebrity guests. Sometimes, people would call back three or four weeks in a row just for the opportunity and the chance to talk to one of our celebrity experts and guests.
I realized I had the secret. I had all of the world’s top experts available to share their magic with brides around the world. The answers to all the questions, the guidance, the support, and the fulfillment of their dreams.
